Product Information
Di-tert-butyl fumarate is a chemical compound that can be used as a reagent for the preparation of ethyl 4,4'-dibromobutyrate and ethyl 2,2'-dibromopropionate. It is also used as a catalyst in organic reactions such as the synthesis of dimethyl fumarate from methyl acetoacetate. Di-tert-butyl fumarate has been shown to react with chloride ion to form tertiary butyl chloride. This reaction system is studied using 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and kinetic data. Di-tert-butyl fumarate is soluble in organic solvents such as ethers, chloroform, dichloromethane, and diethylether. The melting point of di-tert-butyl fumarate depends on its purity; it melts at 106°C when pure and at 84°C when impure. Di
