2-(4,6-Diphenyl-1,3,5-triazine-2-yl)-5-[(hexyl)oxy]phenol (DPTTP) is a stable vinyl alcohol polymer that has been used as an absorber in analytical instruments. It can be used to measure radiation and is also suitable for use with the chemical analysis of organic solvents. The use of DPTTP in polymer films can provide protection against ultraviolet light and stabilizes the film. The average particle size of DPTTP is 3.2 micrometers and it has a thermal expansion coefficient of 2.48 x 10−6 °C−1. DPTTP absorbs ultraviolet radiation at wavelengths between 180 nm and 280 nm and has a low iron oxide content.
