Dimetofrine is a chemical analog of methadone that has been used to treat various autoimmune diseases, such as lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis. Dimetofrine has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of infectious diseases, including malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV. Dimetofrine binds to collagen in heart tissue and reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines. It also inhibits the expression of protein genes and alters the levels of ATP in cardiac cells. This drug has been shown to regulate blood pressure by blocking specific receptors on the heart.
