Description

6,8-Diprenylorobol is a potent and selective antagonist of the MAPK signal transduction pathway. 6,8-Diprenylorobol has been shown to inhibit the growth of human leukemic HL-60 cells in vitro and in vivo models. It also inhibits the growth of opportunistic fungal species such as philippinensis and glycyrrhiza species. 6,8-Diprenylorobol also has pharmacokinetic properties that are similar to those of other compounds with a hydroxyl group at position 3, including rapid clearance from the body and a short half-life. 6,8-Diprenylorobol is an analog of orobol (1) with a hydroxyl group at C3 instead of C2.
