Product Information

Name:
Dimethyl cis-1,2,3,6-tetrahydrophthalate
Synonyms:
  • Dimethyl Cis-1,2,3,6-Tetrahydrophthalate
  • dimethyl (1R,2S)-cyclohex-4-ene-1,2-dicarboxylate
Description:

Dimethyl cis-1,2,3,6-tetrahydrophthalate is a substrate for cytochrome P450 monooxygenases. It reacts with hydrogen peroxide to form the corresponding epoxides. The kinetics of this reaction are first order with respect to both reactants and there is no apparent activation energy barrier. The rate of epoxidation is dependent on the concentration of both reactants and the concentrations of various constants in the system. Dimethyl cis-1,2,3,6-tetrahydrophthalate undergoes an oxidation reaction that forms alkenes. This reaction is catalyzed by monooxygenases and it can be used as a probe to measure enzyme activity.
