Alpha-dihydroartemisinin is a chemical compound that inhibits the growth of tumor cells by inhibiting the mitochondrial transmembrane electron transfer. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect and is able to inhibit the growth of endothelial cells. Alpha-dihydroartemisinin can be synthesized from dihydroartemisinin, which is derived from artemisinic acid. In order to synthesize alpha-dihydroartemisinin, a reaction mass was mixed with high efficiency and was left at room temperature for 12 hours. The reaction mass was then heated to 60°C for one hour in order to extract the product. This process can be reversed by using a reversed-phase hplc method.
