Product Information
DBCO-PEG4-amine is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits the uptake of fatty acids by cancer cells. DBCO-PEG4-amine binds to tumor cells with high levels of fatty acid uptake, leading to its accumulation in the cell membrane and inhibition of cellular metabolism. This causes tumor cells to die by apoptosis. DBCO-PEG4-amine has been shown to be effective against a variety of cancers, including breast cancer and prostate cancer. It has also demonstrated activity against leukemia and lymphoma cancer cells when used in combination with sorafenib or other chemotherapeutic agents. The mechanism of action is not fully understood but may be related to disruption of the disulfide bond in these proteins due to the presence of a dithiobenzyl group on the PEG chain.
