Description:
Vandetanib is a drug that inhibits the kinases VEGFR-2 and RET, which are involved in angiogenesis. Vandetanib has shown high efficacy in patients with renal cell carcinoma. Vandetanib is metabolized by CYP3A4 to an active form, vandetanib. Vandetanib has been shown to inhibit the growth of thyroid carcinoma cells and also show an interaction with cabozantinib and motesanib, which are drugs that inhibit vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) tyrosine kinase activity.
