Desacetyl vindoline is a monoterpenoid indole alkaloid that is found in plants. It has been isolated from the roots of Vinca rosea and is a precursor to vinblastine and vincristine. Desacetyl vindoline can be synthesized using sephadex g-100, sequences, and malonic acid. This compound, as well as other monoterpenoid indole alkaloids such as desacetylvinblastine, have been shown to be catalysing agents for various enzymes including ph optimum enzymes in plant cells. Desacetylvindoline also has cell culture properties that help with root formation and enzyme activities that are important for plant physiology. The recombinant production of this compound may contribute to the dry weight of the plant cell cultures.
