Product Information

Name:
Desmethyl bosentan
Synonyms:
  • 4-(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-N-[6-(2-hydroxyethoxy)-5-(2-hydroxyphenoxy)[2,2'-bipyrimidin]-4-yl]benzenesulfonamideRo 47-8634
Description:

Desmethyl bosentan is an analog of the drug bosentan. It is a potent selective inhibitor of the uptake of nitric oxide (NO) by eNOS, thereby inhibiting the production of NO. Bosentan has been shown to be effective in cancer resistance studies and has also been found to be useful in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Desmethyl bosentan can be used as a research tool for studying the metabolism and pharmacokinetics of bosentan. The expression plasmid containing desmethyl bosentan allows for detection and quantification of bosentan metabolites using LC-MS/MS.
