Description

Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the class of drugs called NSAIDs. It is used to treat pain and inflammation, including arthritis and other joint problems. The enantiomers of naproxen were separated by gas chromatography and the retention times were measured. This allowed for the measurement of the purity of each enantiomer (R- and S-). The repeatability was determined by measuring the same sample on two different days with no significant difference between measurements. The diastereomeric purity was also determined by gas chromatography and found to be 98%.
