Product Information
- BNN5NaN,N'-1,4-Phenylenebis[N-nitroso]glycinep-Phenylenebis(nitrosoiminoacetic acid)
N,N-Dinitroso-p-phenylenediamine-N,N-diacetic acid (DNPD) is a water soluble molecule with a pyrimidine nucleus. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and is used for the treatment of skin conditions such as psoriasis. DNPD also modulates the apoptotic process by inhibiting the proliferation of endothelial cells. DNPD induces apoptosis in human keratinocytes by activating soluble guanylate cyclase, which leads to an increase in intracellular levels of guanosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (cGMP). The activation of cGMP leads to an increase in the production of reactive oxygen species and mitochondrial dysfunction. This ultimately results in cell death.
