Description

Di-O-acetyl-L-tartaric anhydride is a matrix effect agent that is used in the synthesis of diagnostic agents. Di-O-acetyl-L-tartaric anhydride has been shown to be an optimal reaction agent in the synthesis of a number of compounds, including linear calibration curves for diagnostic agents and the synthesis of fluorescent compounds. This reagent is often used in chromatography as a stationary phase. Di-O-acetyl-L-tartaric anhydride also has fluorescence properties, which make it useful for detecting hydrogen bonds. The enantiomer form of this compound can be used as a clinical agent to detect α1 acid glycoprotein levels in patients with malignancies.
