Description:
2,3-Dihydro-2-oxo-1H-indole-3-acetic acid is a metabolite of indole acetic acid. It is an inhibitor of indole acetic acid oxidase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of indole acetic acid to indoleacetaldehyde. 2,3-Dihydro-2-oxo-1H-indole-3-acetic acid has been shown to be synthesized in vitro by incubating solanum tuberosum and root formation. This compound also inhibits the growth regulator activity of caproic acid in vivo.
