2,2-Dimethyldihydro-2H-pyran-4(3H)-one is a compound obtained by the reaction of cyanoacetamide with morpholine and chlorides. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of biological studies in mice. The methyl groups were found to be important for the cytotoxic effect. 2,2-Dimethyldihydro-2H-pyran-4(3H)-one is used as an insecticide and fungicide. This compound can be synthesized from acetyl derivatives.
