1,2-Dihydroxytetra-fluoro-benzene is an organic molecule with a protonated hydroxy group and two bidentate ligands. This compound has been used as a solid catalyst in cationic polymerization reactions because it has a high flow rate. The cyclopentadienyl ligand activates the 1,2-dihydroxytetra-fluoro-benzene to catalyze the polymerization of olefins. 1,2-Dihydroxytetra-fluoro-benzene can be synthesized by reacting ethylene glycol with boronic ester and nitrogen gas in an organic solvent at room temperature.
