9,9-Dioctylfluorene-2,7-diboronic acid bis(pinacol) ester is an organic compound that is used as a precursor in the synthesis of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). It can be processed at lower temperatures than other OLED materials and has a high yield. 9,9-Dioctylfluorene-2,7-diboronic acid bis(pinacol) ester absorbs yellow light with a wavelength of 600 nm. The processability of this material allows for the fabrication of electrodes with good conductivities. The efficiency of OLED devices made from 9,9-dioctylfluorene-2,7-diboronic acid bis(pinacol) ester have been shown to be approximately 20% greater than those made from other materials.
