Description

2,3-Dibromo-2-butene-1,4-diol is used as a reactive additive and functional group in the production of polymers. It has been shown to have synergistic effects with diphenyl ethers and amines in the production of acrylonitrile copolymers. This chemical is also used as a monomer for the synthesis of fatty acid esters and other functionalities. 2,3-Dibromo-2-butene-1,4-diol has been shown to be a reactive chlorine donor in the formation of chlorinated polycarboxylic acids. This product is generally soluble in organic solvents such as acetone or methanol.
