Product Information
- 2-(9,9-dimethyl-9H-fluoren-2-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane
2-(9,9-Dimethyl-9H-fluoren-2-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolane (DMTBD) is a fluorescent probe that can be used to measure the permeability of membranes. It is used in Suzuki coupling reactions and cross-coupling reactions with elemental analysis. The fluorescence of DMTBD is based on its chromophore which has been identified as bromophenol. The fluorescence intensity of DMTBD decreases with increasing hydrophobicity of the solvent environment. This is measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and can be used to identify lipids in a sample.
