Description:
1,2-Didodecyldisulfane is a corrosion inhibitor that works by adsorbing onto the surface of metal. It has been shown to inhibit the corrosion of copper oxide in 1:1 sulfuric acid solution at a concentration of 0.5 g/L and 0.1 g/L. This compound can also be used as an additive to increase the corrosion resistance of coatings, such as paints and plastics, or as a cocatalyst for polymerization reactions. 1,2-Didodecyldisulfane is also used as a solid catalyst in n-hexane oxidation reactions.
