Description:
3,4-Difluorohydrocinnamic acid is a multifunctional compound that inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase and cleaves the enzyme bace1. It has been shown to have potent inhibitor activity against Alzheimer's disease by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase and cleaving bace1. 3,4-Difluorohydrocinnamic acid also has inhibitory effects on the production of beta amyloid protein in brain cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cholinergic neurotransmission.
