5-(2,5-Dioxotetrahydrofuryl)-3-methyl-3-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride is a dianhydride that has been used as a monomer in the synthesis of polyesters and polyamides. It has been shown to be soluble in common organic solvents and can be processed at moderate temperatures. The thermal stability of 5-(2,5-Dioxotetrahydrofuryl)-3-methyl-3-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride has been investigated and it was found that it does not react with oxygen or ozone at high temperatures. This chemical can also be used for the fabrication of electronic devices such as transistors.
