Product Information
- Benzamide, 2,6-difluoro-
2,6-Difluorobenzamide is an antimicrobial agent that has been used in the treatment of infectious diseases. It is synthesized from sodium carbonate and 2,6-difluorobenzoic acid by reaction with a chloroform solution of ammonia. This compound has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells and autoimmune diseases in animal studies. 2,6-Difluorobenzamide reacts with amides to form amides through an acylation reaction. The activation energy for this reaction is 13.7 kcal/mol. The diameter of the molecule is 146.2 pm and it has a boiling point of 265 degrees Celsius at atmospheric pressure. The molecule takes on a yellow color when it reacts with chlorine gas and turns green when it reacts with hydrogen peroxide or potassium permanganate. Inflammatory diseases are caused by an immune response to infection or injury that can lead to tissue damage, such as swelling, redness,
