Description:

2,4-Dimethoxyaniline is an organic compound that has genotoxic properties and is used in the manufacture of other chemicals. It can cause bladder cancer in rats at high dietary concentrations. 2,4-Dimethoxyaniline is not carcinogenic to humans. The mechanism of its genotoxic activity has not been fully elucidated, but it may be due to the presence of reactive amines, nitrogen atoms and/or a reaction with hydrochloric acid.
