2,3-Difluorophenylboronic acid (2,3-DFBA) is a biphenyl derivative that has been shown to have insulin resistance properties. It also possesses inhibitory effects on the transport of glucose across the blood-brain barrier. 2,3-DFBA has been shown to be an inhibitor of HIV infection in vitro and in vivo. It inhibits human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) by binding to its reverse transcriptase enzyme. 2,3-DFBAs have also been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth and stimulate apoptosis. The molecular structure of this compound consists of two nitrogen atoms that are connected by a double bond with a single carbon atom as well as two fluorine atoms at the opposite end of the molecule. This molecule can be identified using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy due to its vibrational frequencies being between 400 and 600 Hz.
