Description:

2,6-Dimethylpiperazine (2,6-DMP) is an amine with a carbonyl group and hydroxyl group. It is used in the synthesis of palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions in organic synthesis. 2,6-DMP was found to have a cytotoxic effect on MDA-MB-231 cells and inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential. It also inhibits muscle cell proliferation as well as tissue culture and heart muscle cells. The biological properties of 2,6-DMP are still not well understood but it has been shown to have some anti-inflammatory effects in vitro.
