3,4-Dichlorophenyl hydrazine hydrochloride is a chemical compound that is used as an organic intermediate. It is a colorless crystalline solid that is soluble in water and polar organic solvents. 3,4-Dichlorophenyl hydrazine hydrochloride reacts with stannous chloride to form 3,4-dichlorophenyl stannane. This compound undergoes cyclization to form 2-amino-5-chlorobenzophenone. The elemental analysis of the product was completed at a reaction temperature of -25°C. Phenylhydrazine was used as the starting material for this reaction.
