Product Information

Name:
3,5-Difluorophenol
Synonyms:
  • 2-(Benzylamino)-2-(2-Fluorophenyl)Acetic Acid
  • Phenol, 3,5-difluoro-
Description:

3,5-Difluorophenol is an anticancer compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is synthesized by the reaction of salicylaldoxime with diazonium salt. 3,5-Difluorophenol inhibits cell growth in culture and in animal models by inducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inhibiting DNA synthesis. This compound also inhibits the activity of a number of enzymes important for cell growth, including glutathione reductase, cytochrome P450, and mycobacterium glutamyl-tRNA synthetase. 3,5-Difluorophenol could be used as a potential chemotherapeutic agent for cancer treatment.
