Diethylene glycol divinyl ether is a cationic polymerization compound that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of solid tumours and cell culture. Diethylene glycol divinyl ether is a polymer with a hydroxyl group at each end, which can be used to seal and coat surfaces. It is also a growth factor that can stimulate the growth of cells in culture. The organic acid diethylene glycol reacts with the radiation-induced radicals, leading to the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which induces rapid cell death. Diethylene glycol divinyl ether has been shown to have an effect on cells that are resistant to radiation therapy such as human colon cancer cells and human breast cancer cells.
