Description:
2-[(2,4-Dinitrophenyl)thio]-benzothiazole is a magnetic resonance spectroscopic probe that has been used in the study of the nucleophilic properties of cyano groups. The resonance spectrum of 2-[(2,4-dinitrophenyl)thio]-benzothiazole shows a strong signal at 1.6 ppm and a smaller signal at 4.5 ppm. The chemical shift for the 1.6 ppm peak is approximately -10 ppm (relative to TMS). The chemical shift for the 4.5 ppm peak is approximately +10 ppm (relative to TMS).
