Disperse Yellow 11 is a reactive dye that belongs to the class of polymeric colorants. It is used in textile dyeing and printing processes as well as in paints, coatings, plastics, and rubber products. Disperse Yellow 11 can be synthesized by the polymerization of methyl ethyl ketone with benzoyl peroxide as a catalyst. The light emission properties are due to the presence of a hydroxy group and a hydroxyl group on the molecule. Disperse Yellow 11 reacts with oxygen in air to produce an intense yellow color that is visually similar to diazo yellow (C.I. Disperse Orange 1).
