Product Information
- Quinoline, 5,7-difluoro-
- Ccris 8236
5,7-Difluoroquinoline is a heterocyclic compound that has been shown to inhibit the growth of Salmonella typhimurium. It was observed that 5,7-difluoroquinoline inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA in Salmonella typhimurium. This inhibition is due to the covalent binding of 5,7-difluoroquinoline to DNA. X-ray crystallography studies have also revealed that 5,7-difluoroquinoline binds to the pyridine site in Ta100. Mutagenicity studies have shown that this compound is mutagenic in TA100 with a low mutation frequency.
