- 6-fluoroquinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione
2,4-Dihydroxy-6-fluoroquinazoline is a tautomerized form of 2,4-dihydroxypyridine. It is synthesized by the carboxylative condensation of 2,4-dithiobis(6-hydroxypyridin) with aniline in the presence of tetrabutylammonium fluoride. This compound can be used as a catalyst for cyclizations and alkynes synthesis. The catalyzed reaction occurs by the addition of amines to the propargylic alcohols generated from olefins. This reaction is efficient because it does not require a large amount of amine due to its basicity.
