Description:
2,2-Difluorocyclopropyl methanol is a retinoic acid analog that binds to the retinoic acid receptor and activates gene transcription. It has been shown to bind to the receptor with high affinity and act as an agonist of retinoic acid. The molecular weight of 2,2-difluorocyclopropyl methanol is 225.24 g/mol, which is higher than that of retinoic acid (158.27 g/mol). This product has also been used in syntheses for its ability to react with heteroatoms such as bromine or iodine, introducing functional groups onto the molecule. 2,2-Difluorocyclopropyl methanol can be used in experimental studies as a binder for proteins and other molecules in order to study their interactions with each other.
