Product Information
- 6-Methoxy-2,4-dichloroquinazoline
2,4-Dichloro-6-methoxyquinazoline is a quinazoline compound that has been shown to have potent inhibition of hyperglycemia in human subjects. It has been shown to lower blood glucose levels in both healthy and diabetic subjects. The mechanism by which 2,4-Dichloro-6-methoxyquinazoline lowers blood glucose is not entirely clear. It may act on the pancreas or liver, but it appears to inhibit amine uptake from the gut. This drug also has antihyperglycemic activity in mice and rats. 2,4-Dichloro-6-methoxyquinazoline significantly reduces blood glucose levels in animal models of diabetes mellitus, as well as lowering sucrose intake and chemotaxis of white blood cells.
