Dimethyl 2,3-Quinolinedicarboxylate is a hydrazide that has been shown to be a precursor for the synthesis of cyclic compounds. It is used as a medicinal agent in the treatment of neurological disorders and as an intermediate in the preparation of other medicines. Dimethyl 2,3-Quinolinedicarboxylate interacts with glycine and ammonium salts. The reaction with glycine leads to the formation of a salt containing methylammonium cation and dimethylamine. The reaction with ammonium salts yields an ammonium salt containing methylbenzylammonium cation and dimethylamine.
