Description:
3,3-Dichloro-1,1,1,5,5,5-hexamethyltrisiloxane is a reagent that is used in the synthesis of organic compounds. It is an analogue of tetrahydrofuran and is used as a solvent for reactions involving chlorides. 3,3-Dichloro-1,1,1,5,5,5-hexamethyltrisiloxane can be synthesized by reacting trimethylchlorosilane with hexamethyldisilazane in dimethylformamide. The reaction solution should be anhydrous and the synthesis method is called phosphoramidite. This reagent can also be used to dissolve silicon and other insoluble materials.
