Description:

N,N-Diisopropylformamide is a liquid that is used for sample preparation. It is a colorless liquid with a boiling point of about 200°C and a density of 1.34 g/cm3. The compound has been shown to be potent in inhibiting cholesterol ester transfer protein (CETP) and pyrimidine synthesis, which are important for regulating the production of cholesterol and DNA building blocks. This chemical has also been shown to form intermolecular hydrogen bonding between molecules. N,N-Diisopropylformamide has been used as an adsorbent in 13C-NMR spectroscopy experiments to study the activation energies of reactions involving nitrogen atoms.
