Dihydropinosylvin is an acetate extract of oroxylum indicum, a tree native to India. It has been shown that this extract inhibits the enzyme activities of diphenolase and hydrolase, which are required for the production of fatty acids. Dihydropinosylvin also has inhibitory properties against skin cells and can be used as a cosmetic ingredient. The inhibition of these enzymes may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis in skin cells. This extract also contains unsaturated alkyl groups that may contribute to its inhibitory effects on cell proliferation. Dihydropinosylvin is not active against bacteria or fungi, but it does have protective effects against external factors such as ultraviolet radiation and ozone gas.
