Di-n-butylglycine is a cyclic peptide that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It is also a potent inhibitor of vasoactive intestinal peptide, which may be due to its conformational properties. Di-n-butylglycine has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of peptide hormones and other cyclic peptides. It also has been used as an antimicrobial agent for the treatment of bacterial infections. This drug inhibits the activity of enzymes such as chymotrypsin and trypsin, which are involved in protein digestion. Di-n-butylglycine binds to the active site of these enzymes by forming hydrogen bonds with amino acid residues in the active site. The pharmacokinetic properties of this drug have not yet been fully determined.
