1,2-Dilauroyl-sn-glycerol is a fatty acid that is found in low concentrations in the blood. It is an acyl chain of a glyceride and is synthesized by the enzyme lipolytic enzymes. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, as it inhibits leukocyte antigen expression and inflammatory enzymes such as monolayer. 1,2-Dilauroyl-sn-glycerol has also been shown to have a role in the uptake of cholesterol from the brain, which may be due to its effect on body mass index.
