Description:
2,6-Difluoro-4-methoxybenzonitrile is a condensation product of 2,4-dimethylaniline and nitrofluorobenzene. The condensation reaction is catalyzed by acid. The product has pyrazolyl, nitrile and thiazolyl groups that are useful in the synthesis of guanidines and hydrolysis products. This compound can be used to synthesize pyridyl compounds with heterocycles. 2,6-Difluoro-4-methoxybenzonitrile can also be used to synthesize chloroamine derivatives with fluorine atoms as an electron acceptor.
