Description

2-Dimethylaminomethyl-aniline is a mononuclear ligand that has been used in the crystallography of inorganic compounds. This compound was first synthesized by the reaction of aniline with methylamine and trimethyltin chloride. 2-Dimethylaminomethyl-aniline is soluble in organic solvents, but insoluble in water.
2-Dimethylaminomethyl-aniline has been shown to be a good ligand for metal ions such as germanium, amide, amido, and chloride. This compound can be used to form complexes with metal ions through the coordination process.
