Description:
6,7-Dihydro-5H-1-pyridin-5-one is a pyridine that is an analogue of 2-ethylpyridine and catalyzes the reaction between benzylpyridines and oxidants. 6,7-Dihydro-5H-1-pyridin-5-one has been shown to be selective for the benzylpyridine moiety and can be used as a catalyst in the synthesis of benzylpyridines. This compound has been shown to produce high yields of benzylpyridines with high chemoselectivity.
