2,3-Dichloro-4-Hydroxybenzaldehyde (2,3-DCHB) is a chemical compound that is found in the environment and in the body. This substance has been detected in various food products, including dried fruits and vegetables, as well as in human urine samples. The chemical reactions of 2,3-DCHB are not yet fully understood; however, it has been shown to have antioxidant properties and may be able to scavenge hydroxyl radicals. 2,3-DCHB also binds to estradiol and other estrogens in human serum or urine. It has been used for high throughput analysis for measuring hydroxyl radical scavenging activities.
