Description

2,4-Diamino-6-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine (2,4-DT) is a triazine with a diamine group. It has been used as an intermediate in the production of dyes and pharmaceuticals. 2,4-DT is a metabolite of benzene and has been detected in rat plasma following oral administration. The pharmacokinetics of 2,4-DT are complex and have been investigated by measuring the concentration of the compound in rat plasma at different time points following oral administration. The maximum concentration was observed 1 hour after administration and then decreased rapidly over time. The half life of 2,4-DT is approximately 3 hours. This drug has also been shown to decrease platelet aggregation in rats and humans with no adverse effects on hematology or coagulation parameters.
