Description:

4,5-Dihydro-6-phenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone is an antihypertensive drug that belongs to the group of pyridazinones. It has a chloro atom in its structure and has been shown to have antihypertensive activity. This drug also has a hydroxyl group, which can be metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes to form products with different pharmacological activities. 4,5-Dihydro-6-phenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone is soluble in water and reacts with hydrogen chloride to form hydrochloric acid and methoxy groups. Reaction products are formed when 4,5-dihydro-6-phenyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone reacts with theophylline and chloride ions (Cl−). These reaction products have been shown to be active against cancer cells.
