3',4'-Dichlorophenylacetone is a chemical compound that is used in wastewater treatment, as an additive in cosmetics, and as a component of some pharmaceuticals. 3',4'-Dichlorophenylacetone has been shown to stimulate epidermal growth and inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells. It also increases blood pressure and systolic pressure, which may be due to its estrogen receptor modulating effects. The effect on blood pressure can be reduced by physical activity or weight loss. 3',4'-Dichlorophenylacetone has been shown to increase the body mass index.
