Description:
2,3-Dichloro-5-methylpyridine is an acylation agent that binds to the chloroacetamide group. It is a synthetic compound with a wide range of applications in organic synthesis. It has been shown to be an efficient ligand for copper(II) and zinc(II). 2,3-Dichloro-5-methylpyridine can also catalyze reactions involving chloride ions or acid binding. This compound has been used as a pesticide and as a synthetic process for the production of acrylonitrile.
