Product Information
Dibenzofuran-4-carboxylic acid is a naphthalene derivative that belongs to the class of polyaromatic compounds. It has been shown by X-ray diffraction techniques to form a crystalline solid with magnesium. Dibenzofuran-4-carboxylic acid inhibits tumour growth and has also been shown to be an inhibitor binding to the enzyme complementarity protein (CYP) in rat liver microsomes. This compound binds as a ligand to the CYP and modifies its activity, leading to an increase in the levels of cytotoxic agents such as adriamycin, daunomycin, and mitomycin C. Dibenzofuran-4-carboxylic acid can be used as an optical probe for studying stereospecific reactions.
